Nutrition
Sourced from the UNESCO Kaffa Biosphere Reserve in southwestern Ethiopia, near the town of Bonga, this Ethiopian turmeric originates from fertile volcanic highlands within one of Africa’s most biodiverse forest ecosystems.
Cultivated through a network of micro-farming communities gathering up to 500 smallholder farmers, it reflects a socially rooted and environmentally respectful production model based on traditional agricultural practices and manual cultivation.
Harvested by hand, naturally processed and carefully dried, this turmeric preserves its botanical integrity while developing a naturally high curcuminoid content ranging from 6% to 8.5%, significantly above many conventional commercial grades.
Through SAHARÔME’s sourcing network, industrial buyers can access a traceable Ethiopian turmeric supply chain with the capacity to deliver professional volumes, from pilot batches to multi-ton commercial shipments for nutraceutical, food and botanical applications.
